Happy New Year!

I hope everyone rang in the New Year in a celebratory and meaningful way.  I had a wonderful night with good friends that ended in a drive home against a glowing Los Angeles sunrise.

(Quick preface - I am fully aware of the cliche that will ensue in the next paragraph)…

This new day/year/decade offers a symbollic new start to the perils of the last year/decade and a chance to reinvent and improve upon ourselves in the upcoming 365 days and beyond.

Much health, love, luck, success, and happiness to you in the 2010 and always…

I’m on Twitter!

mm_twitter

After much consideration, I’ve decided to join the Twitter party.

“What’s the difference between being your Facebook friend and following you on Twitter?” you ask…

Well I can explain!

Facebook = things that I want to communicate to my friends in an interactive way.

Twitter = random thoughts and musings that I’d be too self conscious to say out loud, but would probably grab your elbow and mutter to you at a party.

So please do me a favor and “follow me”!

Advanced Screening of “NINE”

nine_movieimg_4028

I had a great time at the advanced screening of “Nine” at the DGA in Hollywood recently.  The movie was great…the words “beautiful” and “stylish” come to mind and what a cast!

Speaking of the cast, there was a Q&A afterwards with some pretty heavy hitters:

Choreographer Thommie Walsh, Director Rob Marshall, Stacey “Fergie” Ferguson, Penelope Cruz, and Nicole Kidman.

What a great time!

Our Hot Talk LA Podcast cluster raised a ton of money for our Thanksgiving Food Drive Fundraiser at The Draft bar and grill on Friday!

Randy Wang, Sam Phillips, Kerri Kasem, and and Ashley Marriot (just to name a few) all got together with Leo Quinones, “The Film Freak”, and partied, raffled, danced, and raised money for the LA Food Bank all night with help from our unbelievably supportive listeners!

We had an AMAZING turnout and can’t wait to do it again!!

**Meanwhile, we’re all going to be podcasting from the West LA Smart n’ Final THIS SUNDAY to raise even MORE money for the food drive…our goal is 100,000 pounds of food and we’re not stopping until we reach it!

Come down and see us!

Sunday, November 22, 2009
9AM – 9PM
Smart & Final

I was a guest on The Marc Germain Show

marc

I was honored to be a guest with Marc Germain (formerly known as “Mr. KABC”) and Dina Losito on talkradioone.com last week!  We each brought articles to the “skype table” and read / commented on the wacky things that were going on that week.

Marc is so smart and Dina is so funny (smart too, of course!) and I had an absolute blast shootin’ the breeze with them.

To hear the segment, just go to talkradioone.com and scroll down to 10/15/09.  I am in the first half hour of the show…(unfortunately, my skpye cut out before I was able to give a proper goodbye), but Marc has already invited me back to fill in again…I’m so thrilled!

PGP’S 100th Show!

As co-host of the Pretty Good Podcast, I am excited to announce that Randy and I have just recorded our 100th show!  It seems like such a big number, but I guess when you do  something 5 days a week, the big 1-0-0 creeps up pretty fast!

Anywho, we had a very special hundredth episode that featured the likes of Adam Carolla, Tim ConwayJr. and Doug Steckler! Randy and I even produced a song from the musical “Chicago” as a sort of “bonus track” that features some of my favorite “impressions”.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us this far…and stay tuned…we’re going to have ANOTHER great surprise coming up really soon!

Gina’s “voices” present: The Cell Block Tango!

The Gentlemen’s Club!

avatar_eb43d8427100_128

I was honored to be a guest on the “Gentleman’s Club Podcast with Hammer and Bacon” (episode #11) this week. Tim Hammer and Caleb Bacon are great guys and were really fun to talk to!  We talked about everything from youtube to food trucks to slotlationships!

My interview with the studs starts about 25 minutes in, but listen to the whole show because these are a couple of very smart, very witty guys.

NIN Farewell Tour!

7935_130659148391_549728391_2537614_2883573_n 7935_130855603391_549728391_2539603_266433_n

My podcast partner Randy and I were fortunate enough to be taken by our good buddy and friend of the show George Cook to see Nine Inch Nails’ farewell show of at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles over the weekend…and it rocked!!

They played for about 3 and a half hours and brought special guests onstage to play with them like Gary Numan and Dave Navarro.

Trent told the crowd that the band would still continue to make music, but would not be making it under the name NIN because, according to Mr. Reznor, if he has to keep touring, he’ll die.  :P

We stood right up front in the pit for the entire show and had an amazing time.  Thanks again to George for making it happen!

xo,

Gina
